How to improve site search results with Monocle

Squarespace makes it incredibly easy to create beautiful, professional websites. From stunning templates to seamless e-commerce integration, they've got so many aspects perfectly dialed in.

Squarespace’s search features however? Well, it isn’t know for being uh. . . robust. 😬 It will work for things like tags and categories on blog posts, but it can miss the mark on some page section content and definitely can’t handle pesky typos.

Lucky for us, a Squarespacer named Felix was determined to find a solution. So determined, he created one! Felix is the creator of Monocle Search, a fantastic plugin that takes your Squarespace search functionality to the next level. Here's what makes it so special:

  • Searches across ALL your content types (yes, even those text blocks and image captions!)

  • Handles common typos like a champ

  • Lets visitors filter results by collection type

  • Presents search results in a beautifully formatted way

  • Super easy to implement (seriously, it takes just a few minutes!)

As someone who's been working with Squarespace for years, I get genuinely excited when I find tools that make your websites work better for your visitors. Monocle Search is one of those tools that just makes sense – it's affordable, user-friendly, and solves a real problem that many of us face.

Of course I wish Squarespace would just step up and work on this feature, but they are doing a lot of things behind the scenes, and until this is a priority for their development team, this plugin will fix it. I've created a tutorial video tutorial showing you exactly how to implement Monocle Search on your Squarespace site. You'll see just how quick and painless the setup process is!
