How to add a social share image to Squarespace

To add a main social share image for your website, navigate to Design → social sharing. Here you can upload an image that social media platforms will use as the thumbnail when a link to your website is shared.

To add a custom social share image, follow these steps:

  1. Click on Pages to see a list of pages in your site.

  2. Hover over the page you want to add the image to.

  3. Click on the gear icon.

  4. Select Page Settings → Social → Social Share Image.

  5. Drag and drop your image to upload it.

  6. Select save when you are done!

You can add one for an individual page, blog post, project, event, and product inside the settings for that specific page.

→ Need To Update the Image Facebook is Using? If you’ve added a new image to a page that has already been shared, make sure Meta has the updated version by running your URL through the debugger! https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/
