A Beginner’s Guide to Squarespace Digital Product Blocks

You can use Squarespace digital product blocks to promote products on specific pages of your website.

Digital product blocks are a conveniant way to promote your paid memberships or access to premium content from any page on your website.

You can use these content blocks to create enticing sign-up pages that showcase your different membership options. You can even add these blocks to any page or post to promote your gated content.

Before you dive in, make sure you:

  • Have a Squarespace plan that includes digital products.

  • Connect your site to Stripe or PayPal (or both) to accept payments.

  • Create the exclusive content you want to offer (like a blog, course, or video library) and set up your membership plans.

How to add a digital product block to Squarespace

Here is an example of a digital product block with all elements enabled:

From setup to settings, and all the content blocks in between, you'll learn how to create your own Squarespace site in this course.

  1. Select edit on the top left-hand side of your website preview.

  2. Click the add block option on a page section, or the plus sign inside classic editor.*

  3. Select the digital product option form the list of content blocks

  4. Select one of your membership or premium content pricing plans from the Choose a pricing plan drop-down menu in the content tab

  5. In the Design tab, you can change the the block's alignment to left, right , or center, and edit what details appear in the block. You can choose to display or hide the following elements: Title, description, price, benefits, button

  6. Your last option on the design menu is where you can customize the Button Text for this specific digital product block.

What you can customize about the digital product block using Squarespace

The digital product block is designed to match the main style settings of your site that you have selected using the site style menu.

Unfortunately we don’t have a lot of customization options to make this block unique, but you can easily create custom code to customize it. You’ll find more information in the next section of this article.
