[92] Update on Squarespace Updates: July 2026

Squarespace never stops changing, and this episode breaks down five recent updates worth knowing about, two I love, two I'm not thrilled about, and one that might not affect me but could matter for you.

We start with automatic customer tagging inside Squarespace Campaigns. If you use Squarespace's built-in email marketing, you can now filter out anyone who already purchased a product before sending a promotional blast. I use Flodesk for my email marketing, so this update doesn't touch my workflow, but if you're on Squarespace Campaigns, it's a useful one

Next is a genuine win: individual product pages can finally hold their own Fluid Engine page sections. For years, product detail areas were stuck in the classic editor with barely any mobile control. Now you can build a fully custom section, complete with size charts or extra product details, save it site-wide, and reuse it across other products. I walk through how I used this for a client's new merch line.

Then there's the update nobody loves, except for maybe the Squarespace accounting department: Squarespace raised prices again, with the change going out by email on July 7th. It's the second year in a row for a price increase. I share why I'm staying on the platform despite the extra cost, and I'd recommend logging into your account to check your current plan and billing.

Related to pricing, Squarespace is also rolling out a new AI visibility feature that tracks how your site shows up in AI search results, similar to how Google and Bing analytics have worked in the past. The pricing structure for this one is still being finalized, and I'll share details on the blog and in my newsletter once it's clearer.

Last up: animations and transformations have expanded to more content blocks, including buttons, images, shapes, text, and forms. You can now shift, rotate, and animate elements on hover or scroll. I share why I'm excited about this feature and one important word of caution: use it sparingly, or you risk overwhelming your visitors instead of guiding them.

Your to do list: Pick one update from this episode and go check how it applies to your own Squarespace site this week… I strongly suggest you make that one your current pricing 😬
