FIVE SIMPLE THINGS EVERY SUCCESSFUL WEBSITE HAS

With programs like Wix, Worpdress, and Squarespace, anyone can build a virtual home for their business as long as they have an internet connection. Built the right way, you can turn your website into your best employee, working round the clock to turn browsers into buyers. These are the top 5 things every successful website must have:
Every page has a purposeMake sure that every single page on your website has one main goal. The basics are easy; a contact page should be a place where people can see how to reach you. An about page needs to be more information about you or your business; something that informs the reader. Your homepage is to introduce what you do in a clear and concise way.
Action step: Make a list of every page on your website. Can you clearly identify exactly what that page is for? If you don’t have a website yet, this is a great place to start! What do you want your website to do, and what pages will you need to get that accomplished?
Your website navigation is clearHere’s the deal; everyone wants to be unique. Everyone wants something to help them stand out, and online, that can take the form of clever words or phrases. Being clever with your copy in the text of the page itself is great, but never in your website navigation. If someone wants to know what your pricing is like, “how many clams” is not a good page title. If they want to contact you, “holla at me yo” might fit with your brand, but you will get more traction by labeling your contact page “contact” on your main menu.
Action step: Check out your websites navigation; is it clear and easy to understand what each page is about? If someone has no clue who you are or what you do when they stumble upon your website, can they see how to contacct you?
The important information is on every pageIf you have a physical location, make sure that your address, phone number, and operating hours are on every page. If you run an online business, keep that email address clearly visible. If you have a policy that you get asked about a lot, consider adding that to every page, so that message is always clear to people browsing your website. A great place to add this info is the footer of your website; a section that is designed to look the same on every single page.
Action step: Take a look at your website footer. If you are missing anything important, like the fact that you are closed on Tuesdays or you only ship to the continental US, add that info!

You provide some social proofIn a study from Dimensional Research, they discovered that 90% of respondents who recalled reading online reviews claimed that positive online reviews influenced buying decisions. That is a big number, showing that a great testimonial can be a big factor in turning that browser into a buyer. TA good testimonial or two can also help add a “human element” to your content, showing that you aren't just bragging about what you have to offer but other people like it too! The more specific the testimonial is, the better it will do to inform the reader about what to expect when they want to work with you or buy what you have to offer.
Action step: Do you have a collection of testimonials or online reviews you can showcase? Check google, yelp, and Facebook to see if there are some people have already written about you. Don’t have any? Start asking for them! A lot of customers will be happy to share their experience, and many appreciate being thought of even after the sale is done.
